Milestone Grants

Eligible Expenses

Eligible expenses include:

  • Purchase of equipment, inventory, software, and/or hardware.​

  • Highly specialized consulting services, or other services which cannot be contracted directly with, or provided by, the Lean Rocket Lab or its partners, Lenawee Now & Hillsdale EDP.

  • Payment of certification and licensing fees which must result in receipt of corresponding certification or license by 9/30/2026.

Ineligible Expenses

Ineligible expenses include:​​

  • Building-based construction costs (i.e. any activity that disturbs the ground or modifies a structure).

  • Eligible costs that will be or have been reimbursed by another Michigan Strategic Fund, Michigan Economic Development Corporation, or federal program.

  • A program or service that includes a term or condition that undermines efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19.​​

About Milestone Grants

Milestone grants are currently available up to $4,000 to eligible small businesses in the LOCAL Fellows and Fast Track to Lending programs, as well as one-on-one coaching clients who have received eligible programming and/or services through the Lean Rocket Lab and its partners, Lenawee Now and Hillsdale EDP.

Eligibility Requirements

  1. The eligible small business must have completed an eligible program or service within the previous six months.

  2. Eligible programs & services include:

    1. Small business training, including one-on-one coaching, consultations, workshops, seminars, cohort-based learning, networking, and mentorship delivered by staff of the Lean Rocket Lab or its partners, Lenawee Now & Hillsdale EDP, or a subject matter expert third party contractor.​​

  3. The grant is to support the eligible small business in achieving a milestone goal.​

  4. Each eligible small business may only receive ONE milestone grant.​​

Application & Grant Process

  • An application must be filled out by clicking the button below.

    • ​​Your preferred Michigan service provider/vendor quote(s) for the service(s) and/or product(s) you are seeking funding for must be attached to your application. 

  • Once application is submitted, it will be reviewed, and you will be notified via email on its approval or denial.

  • If approved, next steps will be given including:

    • Signed agreement on use of funds​

    • 60 days to expend funds

    • Paid receipt of use of funds within 7 days of expenditure
