The objective of Michigan Rise (MR) Pre-Seed Fund III is to help companies achieve commercial
and technical milestones that will position them for future scaleup through capital, talent, etc.
Economic development and diversification of the Michigan economy is the primary objective of
the Fund.

Investment through MR will provide additional value to its portfolio companies beyond capital
through mentoring by its investment team, programmatic support and the expansive network of
MSU Foundation which has an overarching goal to support innovation, entrepreneurship, and
economic development at MSU and beyond. Success drivers for MR include collaboration with
Michigan SmartZones and university tech transfer offices, supporting high-potential Michigan
university spinouts, and a commitment to both demographic and geographic diversity as MR
builds its portfolio.
